The best part about Reddit's design is each community typically has its own design, or at least has the capability to. At first glance, it looks like a pretty basic design, but after using it, you come to realize that it serves its purpose well and the site's utility masks the appearance. Fortunately, it looks much better on a mobile device, where the design and ease-of-use matters more these days.
